Rangers reveal huge new Ibrox Stadium upgrades taking place during the international break

Rangers are carrying out a series of improvements at Ibrox Stadium during the September international break, with work taking place across the stadium and its surrounding areas.

The projects include seating replacements, roof repairs and exterior upgrades as the club prepares for domestic football to return.

Rangers making improvements to Ibrox before domestic action returns

As revealed by Rangers on their official website, several maintenance and improvement projects are underway at Ibrox, with work ranging from cleaning and repairs to more substantial stadium upgrades.

The commemorative bricks around the external concourses are being cleaned, while the east and west gates are receiving attention, including wall maintenance, weed removal and repointing.

Surveys are also being carried out to establish the cost of potentially repainting the Main Stand roof structure.

Small-scale resurfacing work is being assessed, while larger sections of seating in the Club Deck and Enclosures are scheduled for replacement over the next month or so.

Repairs are also planned for several roof panels on the west side of the Bill Struth Main Stand, with a mobile access platform being used from the Broomloan Road side of Edmiston Drive.

Meanwhile, work to replace the remaining FILON cladding on the Copland Stand began on Monday, September 21.

Scaffolding will be erected to support the project, which is expected to take approximately two weeks.

Additional roof replacement work on the Copland Road stand is also scheduled.

The international break gives Rangers an opportunity to tackle maintenance work while SPFL action is on pause, with improvements spanning several areas of the stadium.

Replacing seating, repairing roof panels and renewing cladding should help address the stadium's ongoing maintenance needs, while the external work will improve the areas supporters pass through on matchdays.

These projects are not a major redevelopment, but they represent a broad programme of improvements across Ibrox.
