Real Madrid believe they have finally resolved their persistent Bernabeu pitch problems after installing new grass and refining their maintenance procedures.
However, while the playing surface is now meeting expectations, the stadium's ongoing concert restrictions remain a major obstacle to unlocking its full commercial potential.
Real Madrid resolve Bernabeu pitch problems
According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid are satisfied with the condition of the Bernabeu pitch following their latest intervention, bringing hope of an end to several seasons of disruption that included five surface changes in a single campaign.
The latest operation followed the NFL game between the Miami Dolphins and Washington Commanders, which required the club to replace the playing surface within 72 hours to meet the previous season's deadline.
This time, the club retained the existing turf panels and hybrid stitching system after determining that the underlying structure remained in good condition.
New grass was cultivated over several months before being installed on the existing base.

The selected RyeBlue Deportivo blend consists of 50% perennial ryegrass and 50% Poa pratensis, a combination chosen for high-performance playing conditions.
Real Madrid's groundskeeping team has also refined its maintenance procedures, with the club currently having no plans for another surface replacement during the season.
However, another major issue remains unresolved.
Large-scale concerts have been suspended following noise concerns, forcing the LaLiga giants to explore soundproofing improvements around entrances, enclosures and other areas where sound could escape.
Structural soundproofing work is reportedly nearing completion, although finishing work and official sound-emission tests remain outstanding. No confirmed date has been announced for the return of major concerts.
In the meantime, the club continues to explore alternative revenue streams at the renovated stadium, including corporate events, conferences, award ceremonies and private celebrations.
FGG says: Solving the Bernabeu pitch problem is only half the battle
A reliable playing surface is essential for Los Blancos, particularly after repeated replacements disrupted the club's operations.
Retaining the existing base while improving the grass and maintenance process appears to offer a more sustainable solution.
However, the stadium's wider commercial ambitions depend on more than football, so until major concerts can return, Real are missing an important potential source of income from their expensive redevelopment.
