Spurs fans in Hoffenheim: Full matchday guide to PreZero Arena

On Thursday, 23 October, Tottenham fans will be heading to Germany as Spurs prepare to battle it out against Hoffenheim in the club's seventh fixture of this year's Europa League.

Ange Postecoglou's side will be desperate to get the win with Spurs currently occupying ninth in the table, albeit only three points adrift of Anderlecht in third.

With that in mind, the support of their fanbase will be crucial in this fixture and there will likely be thousands of Spurs fans in Hoffenheim come matchday.

How many Spurs fans are going to Hoffenheim?

Tottenham confirmed that they had received an away allocation of 2,866 tickets for this fixture – all of which have now sold out. Included in those 2,866 tickets are:

  • Standing – 850
  • Restricted view – 261
  • Wheelchair user tickets – 10
  • Ambulant seating – 9

Therefore, as a bare minimum, expect to see at least 2,866 Spurs fans in Hoffenheim come matchday.

However, given that a trip to Germany is often considered to be an excellent away day, and the fact that Tottenham have a very passionate fanbase, the actual figure is likely to be far higher than that.

Where will Spurs fans sit at the ProZero Arena?

The away section at Hoffenheim's ProZero Arena is located in the Northeastern corner of the ground, with travelling away supporters accommodated in blocks H1, H2, G1, and G2.

This will see Spurs fans placed behind the corner flag for the most part, which is fairly common in the modern era.

With Germany famous worldwide for possessing some of the best matchday atmospheres in the sport, that Tottenham away contingency will need to make that corner their own if they are to be heard during the game.

Where to eat and drink for Spurs fans in Hoffenheim

Unfortunately, one thing that will be sorely lacking on matchday is a variety of pubs and bars in the stadium's surrounding areas. This is largely due to the ground being located in Sinsheim – a fairly small city compared to the likes of Berlin, Munich and Dortmund for example.

To make matters worse, the ProZero Arena is also situated approximately two miles from the city centre, reducing the number of options even further.

You may therefore decide to begin your pre-match festivities in nearby cities such as Heidelberg, however, our top suggestions of establishments within a reasonable walking distance of the stadium are as follows:

How to get to the ProZero Arena: Guide for Spurs fans in Hoffenheim

While Sinsheim has no specific designated airport, the vast majority of travelling fans will land at Stuttgart Airport, which is approximately 40 miles away from ProZero Arena.

This will naturally mean that you will face a fairly lengthy journey from the airport to Sinsheim – approximately two-and-a-half hours.

Once at the airport, you will want to head towards Flughafen/Messe and jump on the S2 route of the S-Bahn to Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof (tief), exiting the service at Stuttgart Main Station. From here, take the short two-minute walk to Stuttgart Central Station and board the ICE560 to Bruchscal.

At this point, you will want to get on the S2 to Kaiserslautern Hbf, ensuring you exit the service at Wiesloch-Walldorf. Once here, a seven-minute walk will see you arrive at Wiesloch, SWEG Betriebshof.

Finally, two more buses, first the 799 into Sinsheim itself and then the 771, followed by a nine-minute walk will see you finally arrive at the PreZero Arena.
