West Ham surpass impressive number of season ticket renewals at London Stadium despite relegation

West Ham United supporters have delivered a remarkable show of loyalty after more than 45,000 fans renewed their season tickets for the 2026-27 campaign despite the club's relegation from the Premier League.

The Hammers confirmed that over 45,000 supporters have secured their seats at the London Stadium following the close of the renewal window, ensuring another huge attendance base as the club prepares for life in the Championship under manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

The figure is particularly striking given the disappointment of last season's relegation and means West Ham will once again boast one of the largest season ticket bases in English football.

How significant is West Ham's renewal total?

Renewing more than 45,000 season tickets is an extraordinary achievement for any club outside the Premier League.

West Ham's total is second only to Manchester United in England and exceeds the entire capacity of most Premier League stadiums. It also comfortably surpasses the attendances many Championship clubs will attract throughout the season.

The club thanked supporters for their continued commitment, describing the renewals as an incredible demonstration of loyalty that will help drive the team in its bid to secure an immediate return to the top flight.

Earlier in the renewal process, West Ham revealed that more than 42,000 supporters had already committed before the deadline, highlighting the strong backing the club continued to receive even before the final figures were confirmed.

With the renewal period now complete, the remaining season tickets will be offered to supporters on the club's waiting list, meaning the total could increase further before the campaign begins.

What does it say about the London Stadium and West Ham's supporters?

West Ham's relationship with the London Stadium has often been debated since the club moved from Upton Park in 2016.

Supporters have regularly voiced concerns over atmosphere, sightlines and matchday experience, while ownership issues have also created periods of unrest. Yet the latest renewal figures suggest the commitment of the fanbase remains as strong as ever.

The club also reduced season ticket prices for the Championship campaign, with adult tickets starting from £310 and under-18 tickets available from £99, helping encourage supporters to continue backing the team despite relegation.

For Nuno Espirito, having more than 45,000 season ticket holders already committed provides an excellent platform as he attempts to guide the Hammers back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

A packed London Stadium could become one of West Ham's greatest strengths throughout the Championship season, particularly against visiting clubs unused to playing in front of crowds of that size.

FGG says: West Ham fans prove loyalty

Relegation often leads to falling attendances, reduced optimism and thousands of supporters walking away. West Ham have experienced the opposite, with fans showing remarkable loyalty and reinforcing the club's status as one of England's best-supported teams.

If the players can match that level of commitment on the pitch, the London Stadium could become a formidable venue in the Championship as West Ham chase an immediate return to the Premier League.
