Wolves relocate matchday fanzone before first home league match in major 150th‑anniversary revamp

Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a major change to their matchday offering ahead of their return to the Championship, with the club moving its fanzone away from Molineux.

The new indoor venue is part of the club's plans to mark their 150th anniversary season and provide supporters with a more reliable pre-match experience.

Wolves have partnered with the University of Wolverhampton at The Halls to launch a new indoor fanzone just a short walk from Molineux.

The Wolves Fanzone at The Halls will open in the Wulfrun Hall ahead of Friday's Championship opener against Blackburn Rovers and will operate before every home fixture throughout the 2026/27 campaign.

The venue will combine food, drink, music and entertainment, giving supporters a dedicated place to meet and build the atmosphere before heading to the stadium.

It replaces the club's existing outdoor fanzone, which has operated between the Sir Jack Hayward Stand and Steve Bull Stand in recent seasons.

Wolves said the outdoor facility had provided plenty of memorable matchday experiences, but its open-air nature made it less appealing during poor weather, particularly through the winter.

The Halls reopened in May 2023 following a major redevelopment, with Wolves describing the new partnership as the “next evolution” of their matchday experience.

Executive chairman Nathan Shi said the move was about creating a destination supporters actively want to visit rather than simply relocating the existing fanzone.

Moving indoors makes plenty of sense, particularly for a club that needs to maximise the matchday experience across an entire Championship season.

The Halls gives Wolves a more established venue, better protection from the weather and the opportunity to offer entertainment that simply isn't as practical in an outdoor fanzone.

It is also a bold move during the club's 150th anniversary season and could help Wolves attract supporters who might not otherwise arrive early for games.

That said, there is still something special about having a fanzone immediately outside the stadium.
