St. Jakob-Park – Basel

St. Jakob-Park is the biggest football stadium in Switzerland, boasting a capacity of approximately 38,000. Opened in 2001, the ground is a fairly modern venue and has been the home of FC Basel and the Swiss national team ever since it was built.

The stadium will have the honour of hosting Switzerland's opening match of the tournament, as well as the final at the end of July. St. Jakob-Park previously hosted the 2016 Europa League final, which saw Spanish side Sevilla record a 3-1 win over Premier League giants Liverpool.

It will host a total of five matches at the tournament:

  • 02/07: Switzerland vs Norway
  • 08/07: Germany vs. Denmark
  • 13/07:  Netherlands vs. France
  • 19/07: Quarter-final 4 – Winner Group D vs Runner-up Group C
  • 27/07: Final

Now it is time to head to the country's capital city Bern, the location of the tournament's second venue – Stadion Wankdorf. Even more recently constructed than the previous stadium, following its opening in 2005. The ground was used as a venue at Euro 2008 and has been the home of BSC Young Boys for almost 20 years.

The stadium had hoped to host the final, but that honour has gone to Basel due to concerns about the pitch. Young Boys are wary that they will need time to get the artificial turf ready for the 2025/26 campaign, with it set to be switched to grass for this summer's tournament, as per UEFA rules.

In total, Stadion Wankdorf will host four matches at Euro 2025:

  • 03/07: Spain vs. Portugal
  • 06/07: Switzerland vs Iceland
  • 11/07:  Italy vs. Spain
  • 18/07: Quarter-final 2 – Winner Group B vs Runner-up Group A

Stade de Geneve – Geneva

The Stade de Geneve is another modern stadium being used at the tournament. It opened in 2003 and received further renovations in 2020 to make it a 30,000-seater stadium. It is the home stadium of Servette FC and also occasionally hosts Switzerland national team matches.

Stade de Geneve will host a total of five matches at the tournament:

  • 04/07: Denmark vs. Sweden
  • 07/07: Portugal vs. Italy
  • 10/07: Finland vs Switzerland
  • 16/07: Quarter-final 1 – Winner Group A vs Runner-up Group B
  • 22/07: Semi-final 1 – Winner QF3 vs Winner QF1

Stadion Letzigrund – Zurich

Another new build stadium being used at the Women's Euros is the Stadion Letzigrund, which opened in 2007. The stadium was built specifically for Euro 2008, which took place across Austria and Switzerland. The Lionesses will become very familiar with this stadium in the coming weeks as their first two group matches are set to be played here.

It will host a total of five matches at the tournament:

  • 05/07: France vs. England
  • 09/07: England vs. Netherlands
  • 12/07: Sweden vs. Germany
  • 17/07: Quarter-final 3 – Winner Group C vs Runner-up Group D
  • 23/07: Semi-final 2 – Winner QF4 vs Winner QF2

Arena St.Gallen – St.Gallen

Opened in 2008, Arena St.Gallen is another state-of-the-art venue that will almost certainly make for a great host at the 2025 Women's Euros. The home of Swiss outfit FC St. Gallen, the ground has a capacity of 20,000, making it one of the smallest stadiums being used in the tournament. Arena St. Gallen will host England's final group match against Wales.

Arena St. Gallen will host just three matches at the tournament:

  • 04/07: Germany vs. Poland
  • 09/07: France vs. Wales
  • 13/07: England vs. Wales

Allmend Stadion Luzern – Lucerne

The Allmend Stadion Luzern has a very interesting story. In 2007, the Swiss FA came to the conclusion that the ground was no longer fit for purpose as a top-division venue, and as such, negotiations on a massive renovation of the facility began.

These developments were completed in 2011, transforming the ground into a 25,000-seater stadium.

It will host a total of three matches at Euro 2025:

  • 05/07: Wales vs. Netherlands
  • 08/07: Poland vs. Sweden
  • 12/07: Poland vs. Denmark

Stade de Tourbillon – Sion

While predominantly used for football, Stade de Tourbillon is a multi-purpose arena with a capacity of just over 14,000, making it the second-smallest host venue at the entire tournament. However, it is also the oldest, having been opened in 1968, giving the ground a certain level of historical importance within the country.

Stade de Tourbillon will host a total of three matches at Women's Euro 2025:

  • 03/07: Belgium vs. Italy
  • 06/07: Norway vs. Finland
  • 11/07:  Portugal vs. Belgium

Arena Thun – Thun

Arena Thun is the final Women's Euro stadium, referred to as Stockhorn Arena outside of UEFA and FIFA competitions, was opened in 2011 and with a capacity of a little over 10,000, is the smallest venue that will be hosting matches at the tournament. It is the home of FC Thun and has also been previously used to host Switzerland national team matches in the past.

Forget the capacity, though, as the stadium is a thing of beauty, made even more spectacular by the surrounding mountains, which tower over it.

The stadium will host three matches at Euro 2025:

  • 02/07: Iceland vs. Finland
  • 07/07: Spain vs. Belgium
  • 10/07: Norway vs. Iceland

England base camp for Euro 2025

All 16 teams competing at Euro 2025 have organised their own base camp for the tournament, which is where they will stay for the duration of the tournament.

A lot has been made about England's base camps over the years, particularly on the men's side of things, with former England full-back, Gary Neville, going as far as to blame some of their training complexes as the reason for tournament failures.

For Euro 2025, England are basing themselves at the Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich and will train each day at Sportanlage Au, Opfikon. The hotel has a five-star rating, meaning the players will have a perfect place to unwind and relax after each match, while the training complex is a state-of-the-art facility with indoor and outside training spaces.

England's base camp is also in a good spot in terms of convenience. Their first two matches are being played at the Stadion Letzigrund in Zurich, which is just a short journey away from the Dolder Grand Hotel. Their final match, at Arena St.Gallen, is around an hour away on a coach.
