Barcelona have already ticked off a couple of major milestones since returning to the Camp Nou at the end of November.
First of all, there was the small matter of playing a match back at the stadium for the first time in over two years, and that day came on Saturday, 22 November, when they took on Athletic Bilbao.
The next major milestone came on Tuesday, 9 December, when Barcelona welcomed Eintracht Frankfurt to the Camp Nou for the first Champions League match back at the iconic stadium.
Naturally, the next date that everybody in Catalonia is counting down to is Barcelona's next home El Clasico, which is pencilled in for 10 May 2026.
Barcelona release early ticket details for El Clasico
Although the match is still five months away, Barcelona have released some early ticket information for the clash against Real Madrid at the end of the season, and it's bad news for working-class supporters.
The tickets released by Barcelona this week are for the VIP sections inside the Camp Nou. While these tickets are always going to be more expensive than standard seats, the price points are beyond anything that has come before.
Tickets in the ‘Players Zone', a VIP area located next to the dugout and bench, are going for €4,000, and this is just the starting price. This area does provide fans with an excellent view of the pitch at the Camp Nou, on top of premium pre-match and post-match catering, but many fans understandably feel that is far too steep a price for a single match.

Ticket prices will only rise
The natural demand for El Clasico means that Barcelona can effectively charge fans what they like for this fixture, even if it means pricing local supporters out. The match has become an international event in its own right, so the expectation is that ticket prices will only rise as the match draws closer.
The fact that the match is being played in May could also have an impact. If both clubs are still in the hunt for the title when the match comes around, then ticket prices will likely go through the roof.
FGG says: No longer a surprise
Gone are the days when elite football clubs would pretend to care about local, working-class supporters. The masks are well and truly off, so don't expect any kind of U-turn from Barcelona anytime soon.
