Eyebrows were raised when Manchester United paid £70m for Casemiro in 2022, with the general consensus at the time being that the Brazilian was past his best.

His Old Trafford career has been a rollercoaster. After a sensational debut campaign, his form and legs seemed to desert him during seasons two and three, but he has now seemingly rediscovered his best form in season four.

Regardless of his form, his attitude and work ethic have made him a fan favourite at Old Trafford since day one, and it didn't take long for the Stretford End to give him his own football chant.

For all the most important information on the Casemiro chant, keep reading.

Casemiro chant, lyrics and tune

The Casemiro chant isn't going to win any prizes for lyrical genius, but it's a catchy one nonetheless. The lyrics are simply:

De de de de de,

Casemiro!

De de de de de,

Casemiro!

Casemiro chant background

When Casemiro first signed for the club, some online Man Utd fans tried to put forward a Casemiro chant to the tune of ‘Rockin' All Over The World' by Status Quo. However, this was during the time that Arsenal fans were using this tune for the popular Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe chant, so it was swiftly shot down by matchgoing United fans.

Although the ‘de de de de' chant is more basic, it has seemingly gone down well with the player and his family. A video went viral on social media during the 2024/25 season of Man Utd fans serenading Casemiro's wife with the chant at Old Trafford while she watched a match from the player's box.

Casemiro could have easily come to Man Utd, put his feet up and cashed in the unnecessarily big and long contract the club gave him back in 2022. Instead, he turned up in Manchester, desperate for more silverware, and has largely delivered the goods. He will retain a good relationship with the club's supporters long after he leaves.
