Globally, Manchester United have one of the biggest fanbases in the world while locally, they also have one of the most reliable in terms of filling stadiums and away allocations. The club's supporters also boast a fantastic songbook, one that they took full advantage of on away trips.
While at Old Trafford you will typically hear the same, most popular Manchester United football chants, on the road the Red Army frequently rattle through their lesser-known selection. The guide below runs through a mix of their most famous anthems and some of their more amusing, away day songs.
Manchester United football chants: Ten of the best
We've seen it all, we've won the lot
This is a song that has strangely become more prominent in recent seasons when Man Utd have in fact stopped winning trophies at regular intervals like they did in yesteryear. However, it's still a catchy song, a unique tune, and a reminder to opposition fans that the club has won everything there is to win.
We've seen it all,
We've won the lot,
We're Man United and we're never gonna stop,
Ole ole, ole ola,
Ole ole ole ole ole ole ola
Glory Glory Man Utd
This is one of the very few Man Utd songs that the Reds stole from another club. It was first sung by Tottenham fans in the 1960s before United made it their own in the 1980s.
Glory Glory Man United,
Glory Glory Man United,
Glory Glory Man United,
As the Reds go marching on, on on
U-N-I
If you ever watch a Man Utd game on TV then this is most likely the song you will hear sung most often, particularly at the start of the match or just after United have scored. To the tune of ‘The Children's Marching Song', the song features a taunt at Man City.
U-N-I,
T-E-D,
United are the team for me,
With A knick knack paddy whack give a dog a bone,
Why don't City f*ck off home
Manchester United calypso
This is one of the oldest Manchester United football chants around but it has certainly stood the test of time. When this one gets going in away ends, it can go on for 15-20 minutes straight.
Manchester, Manchester United,
A bunch of bouncing Busby Babes,
They deserve to be knighted,
When they're playing in your town,
Get yourself to that football ground,
Take a lesson come and see,
Football taught by Matt Busby,
Oh Manchester, Manchester United…
Singing the calypso at the correct speed for first time in years… proper🤝🇾🇪 #mufc pic.twitter.com/GMGln6wlVd

Matt Busby's Aces
Another old song that dates back to the 1950s and '60s when Sir Matt Busby was leading United to glory at home and in Europe.
Oh me lads,
You should have seen us coming,
The fastest team in the League,
Just to see us running,
All the lads and lasses,
With smiles upon their faces,
Walking down the Warwick Road,
To see Matt Busby’s aces
The pride of all Europe
Manchester United have won the European Cup/Champions League three times and when they're competing in Europe's elite competition, this is a song that is frequently heard at Old Trafford and in away ends.
We are the pride of all Europe,
The cock of the North,
We hate the Scousers,
The Cockneys of course (and Leeds!),
We are United,
Without any doubt,
We are the Manchester boys,
Na, Na, Na
20 times, 20 times
When Man Utd were crowned Premier League champions in 2013, the fans marked the occasion by creating a new song to remind opponents that they had won the league 20 times – more than anyone else. Little did they know at the time that they would still be singing it eleven years later.
20 times, 20 times, Man United,
20 times, 20 times, I say,
20 times, 20 times, Man United,
Playing football the Matt Busby way
Bruno, Bruno, Bruno
There aren't many current Man Utd players that ‘deserve' their own chant but Bruno Fernandes is certainly on that does. The Portuguese magician was being serenaded by the Stretford End with this chant just a few weeks after joining.
Bruno, Bruno, Bruno,
Came from Sporting like Cristiano,
He goes left he goes right, makes defenders look sh*te,
He’s our Portuguese magnifico
🎵”Bruno, Bruno, Bruno! Came from Sporting like Cristiano. He goes left he goes right, makes defences look shite. He’s our Portuguese magnifico! 🎵 [@mufcaways__] #MUFC

Spirit in the Sky
George Best has been adored by Man Utd fans for over 50 years now and he has several songs about him. While the Yellow Submarine ‘We All Live in a Georgie Best World' is a cracker, the Spirit in the Sky chant has grown in popularity in recent years.
Going on up to the spirit in the sky,
It’s where I’m gonna go when I die,
When I die and they lay me to rest,
I’m gonna go on the p*ss with Georgie Best
Twelve Cantonas
This is a song that is only ever heard during the festive period and it is as simple as it is brilliant. United fans simply sing the twelve days of Christmas song but change each item for Eric Cantona. The final verse is as follows.
On the 12th day of Christmas, my true love sent to me,
12 Cantonas,
11 Cantonas,
10 Cantonas,
9 Cantonas,
8 Cantonas,
7 Cantonas,
6 Cantonas,
5 Cantonas,
4 Cantonas,
3 Cantonas,
2 Cantonas,
And an Eric Cantona
