The main thing to note for away fans is your seating location in the northeast corner. This serves two real benefits for you. Firstly, there aren’t any views inside Dignity Healthy Sports Park that don’t have a decent view, but, unlike many grounds, it means visiting supporters are much closer to the more vocal home support. That generates friendly banter and a fantastic atmosphere, meaning you’re in for a great time.
LA Galaxy are one of the most-followed MLS football clubs. Here are some popular chants at Dignity Healthy Sports Park.
- This is L.A.
- I’m LA ’til I Die
- Blue, White and Gold
- We Are the ACB
- We all Cheer for the LA Galaxy
The exterior
LA Galaxy are a club with global appeal for two main reasons. First, they are located in Los Angeles, a well-known tourist destination. Second, they once acquired David Beckham, arguably the most iconic footballer in history, which significantly boosted their worldwide recognition.
Beckham provides a photo opportunity at the ground with a statue of the now Inter Miami owner located close to the main entrance and club shop, both of which are to the south of the stadium.
The other striking factor from the outside is the design and architecture of the stadium roof. From above, it’s clear that the two roofing sections curve at one end and have a sharp finish at the other, which is a unique look in itself. What’s more impressive, though, are the huge stilts that hold the roof over the stands whilst leaving a gap to aid light and air flow.
The interior
Once inside the ground, it’s all about the stands themselves.
North Stand
To the north, you have a single tier of seating that runs on a steady but undramatic incline up to the Stadium Club suite with a large scoreboard taking pride of place above the glass-fronted VIP boxes.
The north stand, which has a section of safe standing too, offers very little protection from the weather, with the roofing only covering the very corner seats before it’s abrupt cut off over those sitting centrally.
South Stand
Directly opposite, i.e. in the south stand, the seating is a similar deal with a single set of inclined seats but no standing. There are a few further differences between the stands that are located behind the respective goals as well.
The main things of note are that the south doesn’t have the premium lounge, isn’t covered by any roof at all and, whilst there is a large screen at both ends, the one in the south is for action replays whilst the other is just keeping a track of the score line and the time remaining.
West Stand
That brings us on to the touchline stands. We’ll start with the west, which is a two-tiered stand with modest suites separating the two tiers. The west stand, despite its more ‘stripped back’ look, is very desirable for those who want to watch the game with reports that the sun interferes with your view of the match less on this flank.
East Stand
Finally, there is the east stand. The east stand is the most eye-catching of the four, with its single tier of seating almost replicated above in the shape of countless VIP lounges and suites.
Everyone loves to grub up and/or have a drink before the football gets underway. With the array of concessions available inside Dignity Healthy Sports Park, you’ll be hard pressed not to find something that satisfies your cravings.
The choices available are vast, with everything from simple snacks – like peanuts – through to things like pizza, burgers and even sushi on the menu. It’s not only there where the Galaxy are ticking boxes, though, because they’ve even got offerings available specifically for children alongside vegan and gluten-free choices.
On top of the food, you’ve also got a few drinking concessions to choose between; these include craft beers from Kona Brewing and LA Craft, with the latter also having their fingers in the pie of spirits.
While there are good dining options inside the stadium, there are also several great choices in the surrounding area. One of the nearest restaurants, just a few hundred yards away, is A&W. This well-respected fast food establishment specialises in American cuisine.
If you decide to head towards South Avalon Boulevard, then within a minute or so, you’ll arrive at a trio of eateries. These are KFC, another American diner by the name of Chinollo and the highly rated R & R Soul Food.
If you have a sweet tooth, a further five minutes down South Avalon Boulevard will bring you to a Baskin-Robbins too!
Finally, if you head up towards the Gardena Freeway, which is still only about 0.5 miles from the stadium, you will find a few more choices of where to get your pre-match fill. You’ve got a Starbucks, a Big Burger, Del Taco and a very good Mexican restaurant in El Pescador.
