Known as The Beehive, Bowden Park is a ground that feels like a hub of the local community in Market Harborough, especially considering that 66 different teams play on the venue’s various pitches, ranging from Under-5s to walking football sides.

Harborough Town may be a non-league club, but they have become known in footballing circles for their forays in the FA Cup, most notably taking Reading to extra time before losing 5-3 in an eight-goal thriller in December 2024.

Those cup runs, as well as a remarkable three promotions in five seasons, have allowed the Bees to make upgrades to their home, including the addition of a 154-seat stand, two standing covered areas, and a slew of catering and hospitality units.

Harborough Town FC invest in solar power

Harborough Town announced the installation of a 50.4 kWp Solar PV System at Bowden Park in November 2025, a move that has been touted as a ‘major step forward in the club’s long-term sustainability plans’.

This project was undertaken as part of a partnership with Plug Me In, and is expected to reduce roughly 9.2 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, not to mention that it will recoup its investment in only two years.

Speaking on the installation, Siobhan Brewin, Head of Finance & Club Operations, said:

“This is a really important step for us as a club. With energy costs increasing and our LED floodlights already reducing our impact, moving to solar power was the natural next step. It’s an investment in sustainability — and in the future of Harborough Town FC.”

Following the A508 will eventually lead you down a hill and towards a roundabout as above. Take the first exit and bear left, and you should be able to see the team’s clubhouse.

Parking

A free public car park can be found next to the clubhouse car park, and Harborough Town invite fans to make use of it on matchdays.

The clubhouse car park is designated for club and match officials, though blue badge holders can use either car park. Keep in mind that there are only two disabled spaces in the clubhouse car park, but there are more available in the free car park.

Harborough Town ask that drivers be respectful of the locals, especially when parking on nearby housing estates, and also warn that individuals who park at Two Shires Medical Centre or Torchway Pharmacy may be fined £100, with the area being monitored 24/7.

The venue has disability-friendly doorways, an accessible reception area and spots for spectators with disabilities to get a view of the action, as well as accessible toilets and parking.
