Maxence Lacroix has been a Crystal Palace since the summer of 2024, and during his time at the club, he has played a big part in what has turned into one of the most successful periods in their entire history.
In May 2025, Lacroix put in a stellar performance as the Eagles defeated Manchester City to win the FA Cup. Then, a few months later, he played once again at Wembley as Palace beat Liverpool to win the Community Shield.
A rock at the back, Lacroix has also become a beloved figure among the club's supporters, who have created their very own Crystal Palace chant for him.

Maxwell Lacroix chant, lyrics and tune
The Maxwell Lacroix chant is sung to a popular football tune that has emerged in recent years. Most versions of the song, including the Leandro Trossard chant, follow a *insert player name* again ole ole structure, but Lacroix's version is as follows:
Maxwell Lacroix ole, ole
Maxwell Lacroix ole, ole
Maxwell Lacroix, Maxwell Lacroix
Maxwell Lacroix ole, ole

Maxwell Lacroix was signed by Oliver Glasner after the Palace boss had previously managed him at Wolfsburg. Therefore, the Austrian knew exactly what he was getting with the player, which no doubt helped with the settling-in period.
It wasn't too much of a surprise, then, when Lacroix hit the ground running at Selhurst Park, and this chant was first heard during his first few months of the 2024/25 season.
The player seems to be a fan of the chant, too. A video, which can be watched below, was published in November 2024 and shows the Frenchman dancing along to the chant while the Palace faithful belt it out following a victory at Selhurst Park.

FGG says: Something a little different
The ‘ole ole' chant is one of the most irritating football chants currently in circulation around the grounds in English football, and while this chant uses the same tune, it at least doesn't use the tiresome ‘again' lyric.
