A visit to Anfield is one of the most iconic experiences in world football.

Home to Liverpool, the famous stadium blends historic atmosphere with modern facilities to ensure fans are well catered for on matchday.

From food and drink to accessibility and family areas, FootballGroundGuide covers everything you need to know about navigating Anfield in 2026.

Anfield Entry, Turnstiles and Stadium Access

Anfield is a cashless stadium, meaning all payments inside the ground must be made via contactless or chip-and-pin.

Supporters enter through designated turnstiles depending on their ticket, with stewards on hand to assist where needed. For accessible entry:

  • Wheelchair users enter via Gate 6 on Anfield Road
  • Wheelchair bays are located in Blocks AL8 and AL9, near the away supporters’ section

As with all Premier League stadiums, security checks are in place, so arriving early is strongly recommended.

Food and Drink at Anfield: Options, Quality and Prices

Food and drink at Anfield is simple, traditional, and focused on classic football fare rather than gourmet options.

Across the Main Stand and The Kop, you’ll find:

  • Draught bars serving lager, cider, spirits, soft drinks and hot drinks
  • Hot dogs with crispy onions and sauces
  • Burgers and fries with dips
  • Confectionery and snacks

In the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand, similar options are available, though drinks are typically served from bottle bars rather than draught taps.

Additional food and drink vendors are located in pitch-side fan areas and concourses, including mobile sellers offering beer, cider and soft drinks.

Water is available at all bars and from roaming hawkers throughout the stadium.

While the selection is fairly standard, the speed of service and availability across multiple kiosks ensure fans can grab food without missing too much of the action.

Anfield Concourse Areas, Bars and Matchday Facilities

Anfield’s concourses are located within each stand and include:

  • Food kiosks and drink stations
  • Mobile beer sellers
  • Toilet facilities throughout
  • Merchandise stands in selected areas

Alcohol is served on the concourses, including in the away section, but cannot be consumed while in view of the pitch.

There are no fixed bars in pitch-level fan areas, so it’s worth familiarising yourself with the nearest kiosk when entering the stadium.

The stadium also maintains strong hygiene standards, with hand sanitising stations available throughout.

Toilets, Hygiene and Additional Facilities at Anfield

Toilets are located across all concourses and hospitality areas within the stadium.

Additional facilities can also be found outside the ground in areas such as:

  • Stanley Park
  • Paisley Square
  • Sir Kenny Dalglish Car Park

For fans in pitch areas or temporary zones, toilets are located in designated compounds (PT1, PT2 and PT3), with stewards available to guide supporters.

Other facilities include:

  • A multi-faith prayer room, located near 97 Avenue
  • First aid stations are positioned around the stadium
  • Clearly signposted amenities across all levels

As with most major stadiums, halftime is the busiest period, so planning ahead is advised.

Family Areas at Anfield

While Anfield does not have a single dedicated family stand, it still offers a strong matchday experience for younger supporters.

The Family Zone, located in the Anfield Road Stand, provides:

  • Interactive entertainment
  • Activities for children
  • A more relaxed pre-match environment

For seating, the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand is widely considered the most family-friendly area, as it offers a calmer atmosphere than the Kop, is a distance from the away section and has excellent views of the pitch.

This makes it the ideal choice for families attending matches together.

Safe Standing Sections at Anfield

Safe standing has become a key feature of the Anfield atmosphere in recent seasons.

Rail seating was introduced in 2020 and has since expanded significantly, with thousands of seats now installed in The Kop Stand and the Lower Anfield Road Stand.

These sections allow supporters to stand safely throughout matches while maintaining structured seating and modern safety compliance.

The result is a louder, more traditional atmosphere, particularly in the Kop, one of the most famous stands in world football.

Disability Access and Inclusive Facilities at Anfield

Accessibility is an important part of the matchday experience at Anfield, with a range of facilities available for disabled supporters.

Wheelchair Access and Seating

  • Wheelchair bays are located near the away section in Blocks AL8 and AL9
  • Entry is via Gate 6 on Anfield Road
  • Accessible seating allows fans to sit alongside companions

Please note that wheelchairs and walking aids cannot be stored at the stadium, so arrangements should be made in advance where necessary.

Accessible Toilets and Changing Places

Accessible toilets are located close to viewing areas and throughout the stadium concourses.

Facilities include easy access from seating areas, nearby first aid points, and support from accessibility stewards.

A Changing Places facility is also available, with stewards able to provide directions and assistance.

Additional Accessibility Support

Anfield also provides:

  • Dedicated accessibility stewards
  • First aid services across the stadium
  • Clear signage and assistance points

Supporters with specific requirements are encouraged to contact the club in advance to ensure the smoothest possible experience.
