Arsenal’s rapid rise on the pitch could soon be matched off it, with fresh reports suggesting the club are preparing to finance another major upgrade to the Emirates Stadium.
Alongside that, supporters have also been handed a positive update on the long-discussed introduction of safe standing.
What's the latest update on Arsenal expanding the Emirates Stadium?
It's claimed that the Gunners are “lining up finance” as they look to explore expansion at the Emirates, according to former Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness.
He stressed that rolling over existing borrowing facilities with Barclays is routine business, but also a sign that the club are positioning itself for a larger project, such as redeveloping their north London home.
Wyness described Arsenal as “very bankable” given their on-field success, adding that the stadium redevelopment is now the “bigger picture”. With much of the original Emirates debt paid down, the club now has headroom to invest again and “keep themselves relevant in terms of the stadium situation”.

Arsenal have explored expanding the Emirates to around 70,000 seats, which would place them second only to Old Trafford in English football, while demand remains huge with over 100,000 fans on the season-ticket waiting list.
Progress is also being made behind the scenes on safe standing, with phased installation across the Clock End Lower and then the North Bank Lower expected to be rolled out by the 2027/28 season.
FGG says: An exciting update for Arsenal supporters
With Arsenal enjoying what could become their best season in decades under Mikel Arteta, the timing feels significant as the club looks to capitalise on success both commercially and structurally.
This feels like the perfect moment for the Gunners to capitalise on momentum and think big, as expanding the Emirates and introducing safe standing would not only help get more fans through the door, but also improve the atmosphere.
It's clear that the Premier League leaders are very clear about staying at the top, both on and off the pitch.
