Arsenal make big Emirates Stadium decision ahead of the 2025/26 season

During the 2024/25 season, Arsenal had contrasting seasons across their men's and women's teams. While the men ultimately came up short again in their quest for silverware, the women beat the odds to win the UEFA Champions League.

That win in Lisbon at the end of May has only increased interest in the women's team, and as a result, the club have announced that all home WSL matches will be played at the Emirates Stadium.

The decision to play all of their home matches at the Emirates Stadium comes on the back of the women's team playing nine of their 11 WSL matches at the 60,704-seater stadium during the 2024/25 season.

The season was a great success, not just in terms of success on the pitch but also in terms of ticket sales. In total, Arsenal Women sold more than 415,000 tickets, a 20% increase on what they managed during the 2023/24 season.

Additionally, they had an average attendance of 34,110 in games played at the Emirates Stadium and a high of 56,784 for the North London Derby against Tottenham in February.

The women's team will still play some matches at their previous home, Meadow Park, including Women's Champions League home matches during the group stage and all domestic cup matches.

Arsenal Women's Head Coach, Renee Slegers, said:

“For us, this is just the beginning, and bringing every WSL match to the Emirates is another step for more supporters to be part of this special journey.”

Women's football continues to grow year in and year out, and it's great to see Arsenal taking the plunge and permanently moving their women's team to the Emirates Stadium for league fixtures. The news only adds to the wave of momentum around the women's game at the moment, after it was announced that Everton Women are to play all of their home matches at Goodison Park moving forward.
