Following their victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League round of 16, Arsenal have two legs with Sporting Lisbon to look forward to in April.

The first leg of this quarter-final will take place in Lisbon at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, a stadium that Arsenal's men's side last visited less than 18 months ago during the league phase of last season's competition.

Clearly, a quarter-final is more significant than a league phase fixture, which means there is expected to be more interest in attending the fixture among Arsenal supporters.

If you are an Arsenal fan considering heading to Lisbon in April, our guide below has all the information you need to ensure your trip is an enjoyable one.

How many Arsenal fans are going to Lisbon?

It is unclear at this stage what allocation Arsenal will be given for the match against Sporting Lisbon at the Estadio Jose Alvalade. However, we can take an educated guess based on what they received on their last visit here in November 2024.

For that fixture, the Gunners were given 2,500 tickets, which is around the average that teams receive for UEFA matches against Sporting Lisbon. If this is the figure, then Arsenal will have no issues when it comes to selling these tickets.

Where will Arsenal fans sit at the Estadio Jose Alvalade?

The away section at the Estadio Jose Alvade is located in the north west corner. For small allocations, only the lower tier is given, but Arsenal fans will span both the upper and lower tiers for the match against Sporting Lisbon at the beginning of April.

Specifically, Arsenal fans will take up blocks A9 and A11 in the lower tier and blocks B7, B9 and B11 in the upper tier. As the stadium has a bowl design, Sporting Lisbon supporters will surround the away section on both sides. As such, away fans can expect heavy segregation and perhaps some netting, too.

How to get to the Estadio Jose Alvade: Guide for Arsenal fans in Lisbon

The Estadio Jose Alvade is located 7km away from Lisbon city centre, so walking isn't a realistic option. Instead, take full advantage of the city's metro system. The most logical option is to use the green line from the city centre and to depart at Campo Grande, which is situated next door to the stadium.

Alternatively, if you want to reduce all the hassle, you could order a taxi to the stadium. It is located right next to Portugal's E1 motorway, and the drive is pretty straightforward.
