Barcelona are looking to turn up the volume at Camp Nou for one of their biggest games of the season.

The club have confirmed a special supporters’ initiative ahead of the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final clash with Atletico Madrid this evening.

Barcelona introduce singing section at Camp Nou vs Atlético Madrid

Barcelona have announced the creation of a coordinated singing section inside the Camp Nou as the team looks to overturn a four-goal deficit against Diego Simeone's side.

In an official statement, the club confirmed that after several weeks of dialogue with former groups that made up the old EDA (Supporters’ Section), an agreement has been reached to establish a designated area for organised cheering.

The temporary section will consist of 750 members drawn from the various groups and will be located in the South Goal area of the stadium for this evening's kick-off.

Barcelona say the aim is to generate a coordinated and unified backing to help inspire the team as they chase a crucial result.

FGG says: Not quite the Gol Nord, but could give Barcelona the boost they need

The move comes amid continued adjustments to supporter arrangements at Camp Nou, with the traditional Gol Nord section not currently allowed to operate just yet.

While it is not a full return of the iconic Gol Nord atmosphere, this initiative feels like a step in the right direction.

Big nights at Camp Nou have long been defined by noise and atmosphere. Even a temporary, organised singing section could provide the emotional lift that Barcelona desperately need if they are to reach the Copa del Rey final.
