FC Barcelona have announced fresh details about how they intend to allocate the additional 14,000 seats at the Spotify Camp Nou that will become available once Phase 1C of the stadium’s reopening is completed.
The club says the entire allocation of these new seats will go to members and season-ticket holders, reinforcing its commitment to prioritise supporters as the legendary ground’s capacity climbs toward 60,000 before full completion.
This announcement arrives as Barcelona progress the Espai Barca redevelopment, with plans in motion to host league matches at an expanded venue once all safety licences are in place.
The club confirmed that Phase 1C, which will add roughly 14,000 seats to the existing layout, is targeted to be activated later this season pending final administrative approval, boosting the total to around 62,657 spectators.
Priority for members as Camp Nou capacity grows
The decision to allocate all 14,000 new seats exclusively to members and existing season-ticket holders has been described by the club as a gesture of loyalty to the core supporters who have remained patient during the lengthy renovation process at Camp Nou.
Barcelona emphasised that this expanded allocation will remain in place until construction resumes on the third tier later in the project, after which capacity will grow even further.
All additional seats would be included in the Phase 1C licence once the city authorities approve the administrative procedures, a process that has taken longer than initially planned due to strict regulatory requirements.
The club’s operations director for Espai Barca has previously noted that the delay in seat activation is largely due to the municipality’s stringent application of building codes, rather than any technical or safety shortcomings.
This move follows Barcelona’s gradual reopening of Camp Nou after years playing at the Estadi Olimpic Lluís Companys while renovation works were ongoing.

The initial Phase 1B licence allowed a reduced capacity of about 45,000 spectators earlier in the season, making the upcoming increase a significant step toward normalcy and full stadium engagement.
Once the bureaucratic hurdles are cleared, Barcelona expect ticket pricing and seat allocation details to be shared with members ahead of the Phase 1C activation, offering priority purchase windows as per club tradition.
The expanded capacity also improves Camp Nou’s credentials for hosting major fixtures beyond domestic league matches, dovetailing with the club’s formal plans, alongside Barcelona City Council and the Government of Catalonia, to host the 2029 UEFA Champions League Final at the iconic stadium.
FGG Says
Barcelona’s strategy to allocate all 14,000 additional seats to members and season-ticket holders is a welcome affirmation of the club’s commitment to its heart and soul which is the supporters. After years in exile at the Olympic Stadium, Barca’s core fanbase has endured uncertainty, postponements and capacity limits.
Prioritising them as new sections open sends a strong message, recognising loyalty, community and tradition as the club transitions into its next chapter.
