Barcelona supporters have been given a first glimpse at one of the most unusual additions to the new-look Camp Nou.
And even one of the club’s biggest stars looked surprised by it.
New Camp Nou tunnel design lets fans watch players moments before kick-off
Barcelona have installed glass panels along the players’ tunnel at the redeveloped Camp Nou, allowing supporters to watch the team walk out towards the pitch from just a few feet away.
The new feature appears to be part of Barcelona’s wider efforts to create a more immersive matchday experience for VIPs as work continues on the stadium.
Ahead of their recent derby against rivals Espanyol, Spain sensation Lamine Yamal was seen laughing and waving after spotting friends standing on the other side of the glass.
The clip quickly went viral, with many fans praising the idea and calling it one of the most unique features of the revamped stadium.
Camp Nou is still being completed in phases and is expected to eventually hold more than 100,000 supporters when fully reopened.
FGG says: This is exactly the kind of thing modern stadiums should be doing
It might seem like a small detail, but features like this can make a huge difference to the overall experience.
Being able to see the players up close in the tunnel is something most supporters never get, and it clearly made an impression even on Yamal himself.
As stadiums become more modern, clubs are always looking for ways to make fans feel closer to the action, and Barcelona may have just raised the bar again.
