If you want a traditional Hungarian ruin bar, then you need to pay a visit to Szimpla Kert. It's the oldest ruin bar in the city, and its atmosphere cannot be matched. If the weather is good on matchday (which is looking likely), the bar also has an outdoor area full of character. Traditional Hungarian street food is also sold at Szimpla Kert, meaning you could end up staying here for a good few hours.

Expect a chilled ambience, comfortable seating and stunning views of the entire city. Naturally, the price of drinks here is higher than in the majority of other places in Budapest, but if you have deep pockets, then it's a place well worth booking for a couple of hours.

Arsenal fan zone in Budapest

Away from the pubs, Arsenal have confirmed that they will have a designated fan zone in Budapest on matchday. Located in Varosliget, the fan zone is just a 15-minute walk away from the Puskas Arena and is expected to be where the majority of Arsenal fans congregate in the build-up to kick-off.

The fan zone will open at 8am local time and will remain open throughout the match and for a couple of hours afterwards. The fan zone is free to enter and will include a stage for DJs, special guests and other entertainment. Fans will also be able to purchase food and drink inside the fan zone.
