Bournemouth fans react to Vitality Stadium developments as Cherries board sent 18k upgrade message

Bournemouth supporters have welcomed the latest improvements at the Vitality Stadium while calling for the club to press ahead with plans for a much larger home.

The Cherries have begun filling in two corners of the ground, with further redevelopment plans targeting a 17,000-capacity stadium by the start of the 2027-28 season.

The summer renovations were given their first major test when Bournemouth hosted Everton in their opening home game of the season, with supporters praising the new perimeter fence and turnstile arrangements.

The changes have created a fan zone around the stadium, allowing supporters to move more freely before kick-off and access bars, food outlets and shelter before taking their seats.

Fans also reported shorter queues and a smoother entry process, while the increased access to the stands was welcomed as a way of reducing congestion before matches.

Inside the stadium, work is continuing to fill the corners between the East and South Stands and between the West and North Stands with additional seating.

Those changes form part of a wider redevelopment plan which would see the South Stand replaced by a larger two-tier structure, taking the Vitality Stadium towards a 17,000 capacity by the beginning of the 2027-28 campaign.

The prospect of a larger ground has been warmly received by supporters, with fans pointing to the difficulty of securing tickets for Premier League and European fixtures.

One supporter argued that Bournemouth need a stadium of 17,000 or 18,000 seats if they are to establish themselves in the Premier League, while others highlighted the growing number of local youngsters following the club.

The demand is particularly evident ahead of European matches, with supporters already expressing concerns that limited capacity will leave many fans unable to attend games.
