The La Liga match between Barcelona and Valencia, originally scheduled to take place at Camp Nou, will now be held at Estadi Johan Cruyff on 14 September 2025, a much smaller venue located approximately seven kilometres away.
This change is due to the delayed return to Camp Nou. Estadi Johan Cruyff usually serves as the training ground for FC Barcelona and is frequently used by Barcelona B and the women's team.

Unwanted history amidst Camp Nou delays
Barcelona's renovation of Camp Nou has forced the team to play their first three La Liga matches of the season away from home, where they have secured two wins so far. However, a disappointing 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano before the international break was seen as a significant setback for Hansi Flick's squad, especially with the title race in mind.
As they prepare to play their first home game of the 2025/26 season at Estadi Johan Cruyff, Barcelona will make unwanted history by competing in a La Liga match at the lowest-capacity venue this century. Estadi Johan Cruyff has a capacity of just 6,000.
Barcelona have announced that only club members who had full-season tickets for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons can book tickets for the match at Estadi Johan Cruyff.
With attendance limited to 16,151, ticket selection will be through lottery. Interested members should submit requests between 10 September at 10:00 a.m. and 12 September at 10:00 a.m., individually or in groups of up to four.

What are Barca's options for future home games?
The uncertainty surrounding Barcelona's return to Camp Nou leaves players and fans guessing where their next home game will be. Club vice-president Elena Fort recently stated that
they did everything possible to host the match against Valencia at Camp Nou and hoped to resolve bureaucratic issues with the council. However, she could not provide a specific return date, saying, “I can't guarantee that we will be at Camp Nou for Getafe.”
A clash with Getafe is set for 21 September, marking their second home game. They requested to play Newcastle United away in their first Champions League fixture. Additionally, they are scheduled to host Paris Saint-Germain on 1 October, pending UEFA inspection of Camp Nou.
FGG Says
Barcelona hosting Valencia at the 6,000-seat Estadi Johan Cruyff instead of Camp Nou highlights both resilience and frustration. It's a bold walkaround that ensures the game goes ahead, but the reduced capacity robs fans of the iconic atmosphere and raises fresh questions about Barca's planning during Camp Nou's renovation.
While Barcelona should still be the favourites given their squad quality, the absence of Camp Nou's intimidating stage and unusual setting could make this fixture trickier than usual. Valencia may see this as an opportunity to exploit the circumstances and push for an upset.
