Villarreal have officially started work on a series of upgrades at their home stadium, the Estadio de la Ceramica.
The project is intended to improve several areas of the stadium ahead of the club's second consecutive season in the Champions League, having secured qualification with a third-placed finish in La Liga last season.
Villarreal outline stadium improvement plans
Villarreal's stadium project is designed to improve the access and security at the Estadio de la Ceramica, while changes will also be made to improve fan flow and safety at the venue.
The club are planning to do this by creating new vomitories and distribution corridors for fans to use on matchdays.
A new building will also be constructed next to the North Stand of the stadium that will create new spaces for sports use and parking areas.
The works are a continuation of a wider redevelopment of the Estadio de la Ceramica, which was completed at the start of 2023 and focused on overhauling the appearance of the stadium rather than expanding its capacity.

The club have confirmed that some of the latest changes will involve minor adjustments to the stadium in some areas, with Villarreal stating that all detailed information regarding the stadium's reconfiguration will be provided once the season ticket campaign for the 2026/27 season has launched.
Affected season ticket holders will be individually notified, with the club set to offer these fans various alternatives to give them the option that best suits their preferences, with a focus on ensuring comfort and maintaining fans' connection to the team.
FGG Says: Exciting times for Villarreal fans
Villarreal qualified for the Champions League just once between 2012 and 2025, only appearing in 2021/22, but fans have now been treated to back-to-back qualifications thanks to fifth and third-placed finishes in La Liga in the last two years.
Alongside the club's upwards trajectory on the pitch, they are also making the effort to improve fan experience off the pitch, all changes which will ultimately improve the connection between the club and its supporters.
