We are now officially into the second half of the current Championship season, and the race for promotion is really starting to heat up.
It has been an entertaining first half of the season, with surprises most weeks. Sheffield United have been the biggest talking point at the bottom of the table for much of the season, but could the Blades be about to mount a serious challenge for the playoffs during the second half of the campaign?
At the other end of the table, Coventry City are leading the way, and the Sky Blues currently boast a six-point lead over Middlesbrough in second. Ipswich are one place further back, eight points behind Frank Lampard's men, but they do have a game in hand on the top two.

Unsurprisingly, Coventry City are at the top of the attendance ranking in the Championship. There is plenty of excitement in the air in Coventry, and supporters don't want to miss out on any of the action in what could be a historic season for the club.
At the very bottom are Wrexham, with an average attendance of 10,608. The reason for this is the ongoing development at one end of the Racecourse Ground and the stadium's generally low capacity, which can hold only 13,341 fans.
Week 25 2025/26 Championship attendances
Week 26 of the Championship was the second round of games of 2026, and three matches were called off due to the snowy weather across parts of the country.
The highest attendance in the Championship this week came from Pride Park for the match between Derby County and Wrexham. In total, 29,939 supporters turned out for this one, including 2,598 from Wales.
Championship record attendance
Unsurprisingly, the highest ever attendance at a Championship match came at a playoff final at Wembley Stadium. Back in 2014, 87,348 fans turned up at the national stadium to watch Derby County take on QPR, with Bobby Zamora famously scoring a last-minute winner for the Hoops.
