The 2025/26 Championship season is now complete, and the only thing left to sort out is the playoffs.
It has been an entertaining season in the second tier, with surprises most weeks. At the bottom of the table, Sheffield Wednesday endured a torrid campaign from start to finish, and were ultimately joined by Oxford United and Leicester City
At the top of the table, Coventry City were promoted as league winners, while Ipswich also went up automatically, ensuring an immediate return to the Premier League. The playoffs will be contested between Hull City, Southampton, Millwall and Middlesbrough.

Unsurprisingly, Coventry City are at the top of the attendance ranking in the Championship. The Sky Blues were the standout team for the vast majority of the season and were worthy champions
At the very bottom are Wrexham, with an average attendance of 10,608. The reason for this is the ongoing development at one end of the Racecourse Ground and the stadium's generally low capacity, which can hold only 13,341 fans.
Week 46 2025/26 Championship attendances
Week 46 of the Championship saw Ipswich secure promotion with a comfortable home win over QPR. The largest attendance this weekend came from Pride Park for the match between Derby County and Sheffield United. A total of 32,538 fans turned out.
Championship record attendance
Unsurprisingly, the highest ever attendance at a Championship match came at a playoff final at Wembley Stadium. Back in 2014, 87,348 fans turned up at the national stadium to watch Derby County take on QPR, with Bobby Zamora famously scoring a last-minute winner for the Hoops.
