Queens Park Rangers have opened the door to a new commercial opportunity at Loftus Road, with the Championship club looking for companies to take naming rights to one of its stands.

The move would give a sponsor a prominent presence inside one of London's most recognisable football grounds while providing QPR with another potential revenue stream.

QPR have advertised an opportunity on LinkedIn for a company to sponsor one of the stands at Loftus Road, describing it as a chance for a brand to become part of the visual backdrop of the club's home matches.

The former Premier League side says the package would go beyond traditional stadium advertising, with the sponsor's name and signage becoming part of the stand itself.

It would also include branding across areas such as entrances, concourses and hospitality spaces, alongside hospitality opportunities for entertaining clients, employees and business partners.

Loftus Road's four stands currently have established names.

The Loftus Road Stand houses the members' area, while the Bhatia Stand is named after former QPR shareholder Amit Bhatia. The opposite stand is named after club legend Stanley Bowles, with away supporters housed in the Achilleus Security Stand.

QPR's proposal would therefore introduce a new commercial name into the stadium while retaining the opportunity for a sponsor to associate itself with one of the capital's historic football venues.

FGG says: QPR could benefit from another commercial revenue stream

There is nothing particularly wrong with QPR looking for creative ways to generate additional income, especially in the increasingly competitive second-tier.

A stand naming-rights deal could provide useful revenue without requiring the club to make major changes to Loftus Road itself.

The historic 18,439-seat venue has plenty of history, so QPR will want to make sure any commercial deal adds value rather than simply putting another company's name on a famous stand.
