Chelsea fans have received fresh hope regarding the club's potential move to a new home at the nearby Earl's Court site.
The club have long been flirting with the idea of a change in stadium, with Chelsea initially weighing up whether to construct a new home at Earl's Court or to knock down and rebuild Stamford Bridge with an increased capacity.
Before the club's hierarchy could make the decision, a £10bn development project was approved at Earl's Court, which made it extremely unlikely that the club would be able to acquire the site to build their new stadium.
However, Chelsea remain committed to building a new home, and the club may now have a last-minute opportunity to still secure a move to the Earl's Court site.
Earl's Court opportunity for Chelsea

Local councils in Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea have greenlit a £10bn development project at Earl's Court, with the plan including 4,000 homes and retail space but excluding a new football stadium.
However, the Earl's Court Development Company is still yet to secure the full private funding needed for the project to get started with construction, meaning a last-minute window may be available for Chelsea to secure the site for a stadium.
Nizaar Kinsella, a senior football reporter at BBC Sport, provided an update on the situation, sharing that the club still hold hope in moving to the Earl's Court site, and that there may be an opportunity for the club to do so.
If the club are able to secure a move to Earl's Court, it would allow Chelsea to build a new 60,000-seat stadium without the constraints of having to rebuild on the current Stamford Bridge site.
FGG Says: Change may be needed
Chelsea's restored hope of securing a move to Earl's Court will surely please fans, as a change from their current Stamford Bridge home may be needed.
While Stamford Bridge carries plenty of history and memories, a club the size of Chelsea deserves one of the biggest stadium's in the country, something their current 41,312-seat home fails to deliver.
