Elland Road expansion update reveals new fan‑flow barriers, hospitality progress and pitch work

Leeds United's Elland Road expansion project is continuing alongside the new season, with the stadium remaining fully operational for supporters.

Fresh footage has shown several smaller but important changes around the ground as work continues behind the scenes.

Elland Road redevelopment continues with fresh upgrades

The latest update, filmed on September 2nd, shows that Howard's Way outside the East Stand is now complete and open to supporters, providing a new commemorative area at Elland Road.

The nearby car park has also been finished, with new privacy barriers installed, while the temporary hospitality suite is nearing completion and now contains much of its interior furniture.

New barrier systems have been introduced around the stadium to help manage supporter movement on matchdays, while fresh sponsorship branding has appeared around the John Charles (West) and Norman Hunter (South) stands.

There have also been changes on the pitch, with the dugouts now featuring Red Bull refrigeration units and Adidas seating.

Ground staff are continuing regular maintenance using pitch lights to keep the playing surface in good condition.

Further construction preparations are also taking place, including completed tarmac surfacing for coach parking and groundwork ahead of additional piling.

This is a good example of the less glamorous side of a major stadium redevelopment, with plenty happening around Elland Road even when there are no huge structural changes to show.

The biggest positive is that Leeds are managing to keep the stadium fully operational while gradually putting new infrastructure and facilities in place.

There is still plenty more to come, but these smaller changes are important in keeping the redevelopment moving without disrupting the matchday experience.
