Everton fans made their feelings clear regarding Harrison Armstrong's future during the Toffees' 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
The midfielder, who has come through the Everton academy, had been the subject of interest from Nottingham Forest, with reports of talks taking place over a potential £40m move to the City Ground.
However, supporters reacted to news of the potential exit in the draw with Bournemouth, firing a threatening warning to the Everton board, and the deal has since broken down.
Everton fans threaten riots
Everton fans were displeased with news of Armstrong's potential sale to Nottingham Forest, and they made their feelings clear in the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on the 2026/27 Premier League's second matchday.
Aimed at the Everton board, Toffees' supporters were heard chanting:
“Don't sell Armstrong, Harrison Armstrong, I just don't think you understand,
“If you sell Armstrong, Harrison Armstrong, you're gonna have a riot on your hands.”
The fans' warning was clearly heard by the board, with it reported the following morning that talks between Nottingham Forest and Everton had broken down, with the Toffees' board understood to be unanimous in its decision to not sell the player.
The academy graduate's performance in the draw with Bournemouth may have also led to the board's decision to keep the midfielder, as Armstrong actually started and played 87 minutes, showing flashes of his quality at both ends of the pitch.
