Hill Dickinson Stadium set to host England Lionesses final 2027 World Cup qualifying game
Everton Football Club have confirmed that Hill Dickinson Stadium will host the England women’s national football team in their final FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 group match against the Ukraine women’s national football team on Tuesday 9 June 2026.
The 8pm kick-off will see the Lionesses become the first England side to play at the 52,769-capacity stadium since it opened last summer, marking another major milestone in the venue’s early history.
It will also be just the second senior international football match staged at the ground, following confirmation that the Scotland men’s national football team will face the Ivory Coast in a World Cup warm-up fixture in March.
England head coach Sarina Wiegman described the occasion as “very special”, stressing the importance of taking the national side around the country and highlighting Liverpool’s deep footballing links to the Lionesses.
With qualification on the line, the fixture is expected to attract a strong crowd and a vibrant atmosphere in the north-west.

FGG says: A significant step for Everton and women's football
The announcement further underlines the stadium’s status as a multi-sport destination.
Hill Dickinson Stadium has already hosted Rugby League Ashes action between Great Britain and Australia, will stage England v Fiji this summer, and is set to welcome Magic Weekend.
It is also confirmed as a host venue for UEFA EURO 2028, while being shortlisted for the UK bid to host the 2035 Women’s World Cup.
This latest news will certainly help their cause for 2035, as hosting a decisive Lionesses qualifier will merely reinforce Everton’s growing stature off the pitch.
It also reflects the club’s long-term ambition to make the Merseyside venue a genuine national and international football hub.
