Last month, a London-based architectural firm, BACA, revealed plans to build a floating fanzone in the water that surrounds the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Bramley-Moore Dock.
The idea behind the floating fan zone is that it would take fan experience at the stadium to new heights, providing supporters with a place to gather with friends for a few beers and/or a bite to eat before matches at the stadium.
While there has been no indication from the club that they are taking these proposals seriously, the concept art is certainly something that will have caught officials' eyes.

‘A new layer to the matchday experience'
BACA's vision is for a series of floating fan zones that can be used on matchdays and non-matchdays, serving more than just football fans but also the wider Liverpool community.
The plans were unveiled last month, and the firm's founder, Richard Coutts, has now explained the concept in greater depth. He told us:
“We aim to give supporters more than a place to watch football; we want to create a year-round destination that backs local businesses, welcomes families, and strengthens the social fabric of the docks.
“With the stadium set to host eight EURO 2028 matches and major rugby events, the Floating Fanzone will add a spectacular new layer to the matchday experience. It’s a chance for Liverpool to show how design, sport, and culture can unite to create something genuinely unique on the water.
“Liverpool’s strength has always come from its people, and this concept reflects that spirit. We’re creating spaces where the community can come together, run their own events, and build new traditions along the waterfront.“

FGG says: Something worth considering
BACA are clearly serious about turning their concept into a reality, and based on the images they have released, it should be something that the Everton hierarchy at least considers.
There are two things that Evertonians have complained about at the Hill Dickinson Stadium so far. One is the transport links to and from the stadium to the city centre, and the other is the lack of places to go for a drink pre-match.
While a floating fan zone won't do anything for the transportation issues, it will certainly provide supporters with somewhere unique to visit pre-match.
