A once-iconic football stadium is set to disappear from the landscape for good.
After standing vacant since 2022, the former home of Boston United will soon make way for a major new community development.
What is happening to Boston United's former stadium at York Street?
The old Boston United ground at York Street is to be demolished in the coming weeks as part of plans to build a £25 million state-of-the-art Community Diagnostic Centre.
The stadium site, which has remained derelict for nearly five years, will be cleared before groundwork begins on the new healthcare facility. The Boston Community Diagnostic Centre will be the fourth created in the county by Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group.
Once completed, the centre will house two MRI scanners, two CT scanners, X-ray facilities, three ultrasound rooms and eight consultation rooms, including a dedicated audiology space. The development will also include 115 parking spaces for patients and additional capacity for mobile diagnostic vehicles.
Construction partner MTX Contracts Ltd, specialists in modern methods of construction, will lead the build.
The centre is expected to welcome its first patients in spring 2027.

FGG says: A historic venue no more
York Street held decades of memories for Boston supporters, most notably their rapid rise to the Football League at the turn of the century, but its long vacancy made redevelopment inevitable.
While the loss of a traditional ground always carries some emotion, the Pilgrims have already moved into their modern Jakemans Community Stadium – a more future-proof home befitting their ambitions
