Fresh drone footage from around Elland Road has captured the latest progress on the stadium's major redevelopment, but one concerning detail has also been spotted.

Several plaques at the recently opened Bielsa's Place appear to have been targeted with blue paint, although efforts seemingly have already been made to clean the affected areas.

New footage of Elland Road redevelopment shows potential vandalism of Bielsa's Place

The latest footage, captured by Shaun Drabble on July 8th, begins with a closer look at Bielsa's Place, the new tribute area dedicated to legendary former Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Several of the memorial plaques appear to have been marked with blue paint, with traces still visible on parts of the installation.

However, it appears that attempts have already been made to remove the majority of the paint and restore the plaques.

Bielsa's Place only officially opened in June as part of the club's wider redevelopment plans for the area surrounding Elland Road.

Elsewhere, the latest footage shows continued construction activity across the stadium site.

Heavy machinery is operating around areas being excavated for new footings, while further preparatory work is visible near the location of the former away team entrance.

Work is also continuing on the stadium itself, with a cherry picker being used as part of efforts to give the East Stand's external structural framing a fresh coat of white paint.

The video concludes with a full aerial circuit of Elland Road, providing another look at the scale of activity underway as Leeds continue the early stages of their long-term stadium expansion project.

FGG says: Suspected Bielsa's Place vandalism is a disappointing sight

Any deliberate damage to Bielsa's Place would be particularly disappointing given that the tribute has only been open for a matter of weeks and was created to celebrate a manager who remains hugely important to Leeds supporters.

The positive is that the club appears to have acted quickly, with much of the suspected paint seemingly already removed.

Hopefully, the remaining marks can be fully cleaned, and the focus around Bielsa's Place can return to what it was built for – celebrating one of the most influential figures in the club's modern history.
