Everton have received a fresh financial boost after several new events set to be held at the Hill Dickinson Stadium have sold out.
The Toffees have already begun staging a new event named ‘Movies on the Mersey' at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with several films set to be screened at a drive-in cinema.
The screenings, held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, included Finding Nemo, Grease, Back to the Future, Mamma Mia! and Howard's Way.
Three screenings sell out
Tickets for Finding Nemo, Grease and Back to the Future sold out ahead of their screenings over the Bank Holiday weekend, while limited availability remains for the special Bank Holiday Monday screening of documentary Howard's Way.
The event was held at a pop-up cinema at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with part of the waterfront site transformed into a drive-in cinema experience with a giant screen overlooking the River Mersey.
Screenings of Finding Nemo, Grease, Back to the Future and Mamma Mia! were held over the weekend, with the event named ‘Movies on the Mersey' scheduled to come to an end with a special screening of Everton documentary Howard's Way.

The acclaimed documentary, which will be screened on Bank Holiday Monday, tells the story of the football club under Howard Kendall and their rise to becoming one of Europe's top teams during the 1980s.
Entry to the screenings was available on a pay-what-you-want basis, with the club announcing that any and all donations made would go directly to Everton in the Community to help support the charity's work across Merseyside.
‘Movies on the Mersey' becomes the latest in a series of events put together by Everton, which include the upcoming #Game4Hope in September and Docktobertfest event in October – a nine-hour Bavarian-inspired festival.
FGG Says: New stadium continues to prove successful
Although leaving Goodison Park was certainly an emotional decision, moving to Hill Dickinson has certainly proved a success, with improved performances on the pitch and several new popular events being hosted away from the football.
