Newcastle are back in the Champions League for the second time in three seasons, and although the Magpies lost their first match of the League phase to Barcelona, they are now gearing up for their first away match in Brussels.

If Newcastle are to have a successful campaign in Europe this season, then they will not only need better performances on the pitch, but they will also need their fans to turn up when it matters, as they so often do.

The opportunity to travel around Europe following your team isn't one that Newcastle fans will take for granted. If you are planning a European adventure with Newcastle this season, then our guide below should be of help.

Newcastle European away matches

The draw for the Champions League league phase was completed at the end of August, and Newcastle now know who they will be playing and when up until January. Their four away games during the league phase are as follows:

  • 01/10/25: Royal Union Saint-Gilloise vs Newcastle
  • 25/11/25: Marseille vs Newcastle
  • 10/12/25: Bayer Leverkusen vs Newcastle
  • 28/01/26: PSG vs Newcastle

How to get Newcastle Euro away tickets

At the time of writing, the club have only released ticket information for their first European away match against Royal Union Saint-Gilloise on 1 October. It is assumed that an identical process will be followed for the clubs' three other European away matches in the league phase. This process is as follows:

  • Phase 1: The club invites all season ticket holders to apply for tickets for the match
  • Phase 2: Once the application window is shut, the club processes all submissions, allocating tickets in loyalty point order.
  • Phase 3: The club holds back a small number of tickets for a random ballot for those who do not meet the loyalty points threshold. This ensures that European matches don't become a closed shop.
  • Phase 4: All successful applicants are given a window to go online and purchase their tickets for the match.
  • Phase 5: Any tickets that remain available after phase four will be offered to those who originally applied for the fixture but fell into the next tier along on the loyalty point ladder.

It's worth noting that this process is the outline for a match where the club have received only 1,050 tickets. For matches where the allocation goes beyond 3,000, there is a chance that members will be in with a chance of getting European away tickets, instead of just season ticket holders.

Following Crystal Palace in Europe: Advice

Going abroad to follow your football team is an amazing experience, as Newcastle fans most recently found out during the 2023/24 season. However, there is always the chance that a few bad eggs can ruin it for everyone. As such, try and follow these general rules/guidelines when following your team in Europe.

  • Stay in large groups, particularly in cities that are known for hooligan culture.
  • Respect local authorities; you are a guest in their country.
  • Respect local establishments, such as bars, pubs and restaurants.
  • Enjoy yourself, but don't take it to the extreme.
  • Try and get into the stadium with plenty of time before kick-off to avoid any conflict at the turnstiles.
  • Use public transport where possible.
