Manchester United's pre-season tour will begin in Helsinki next weekend with a match against Wrexham, but the trip to Finland is not their only scheduled visit to Scandinavia this summer.

On Saturday, 24 July, the Red Devils will make their way over to Norway to take on Rosenborg for their second pre-season friendly. Due to the popularity of the club in this part of the world, demand for tickets is high, but that hasn't deterred UK-based Reds from booking flights and accommodation in Trondheim for the match.

If you are going to the match, here are the best ways to get to the Lerkendal Stadion from the surrounding area.

Best ways to get to the Lerkendal Stadion

Walking

For fans staying in Trondheim, arguably the easiest way to get to the stadium is to simply walk. The Lerkendal Stadion is located around 2km away from the city centre, which equates to around a 25-minute walk.

The walk from the centre to the stadium is not exactly taxing, either, with fans required to walk south on Prinsens Gate and Elgester Gate until they see the stadium.

Via the train

It is believed that fans from all over Norway have tickets for the match, and if you are coming from outside of Trondheim, walking clearly isn't an option. Your best bet is to get on a train that stops at Lerkendal Station, as this is located right next to the stadium.

The central railway station in Trondheim runs daily services to the Lerkendal Station, so connecting here from other major cities may be required.

Via the bus

There are several city centre bus stops that serve the Lerkendal Stadion directly. Specifically, fans should look for buses 8, 55, 60 and 66 from the centre of Trondheim for a quick and easy route to the stadium. Most of the time, these journeys will last a maximum of 10 minutes.

Driving

Fans are generally encouraged not to drive to the Lerkendal Stadion as it isn't really equipped to deal with large numbers of vehicles. Parking is limited at the ground itself, and there isn't an awful lot available in terms of on-street parking. If you insist on driving, enter this address in your satnav: Klæbuveien 125, 7031 Trondheim, Norway

Cycling

While the stadium isn't set up for cars, it is for bicycles. Cyclists have plenty of designated areas to store their equipment while they enjoy the match. The total cycle time from the centre of Trondheim to the stadium is only around 10 minutes. The route is as straight and simple as you could hope for.
