Wrexham’s ongoing Kop Stand redevelopment has reached another eye-catching stage, with fresh footage giving supporters their clearest look yet at how the new structure will eventually dominate the Racecourse Ground skyline.
After months of groundwork taking place largely out of sight, the project is finally becoming something fans can physically picture rather than just imagining from renderings and construction updates.
Watch as Kop Stand begins to take shape with seating foundations
New drone footage from the Racecourse site shows significant progress being made as steelwork continues to rise above ground level, with the installation of key raker beams now beginning to reveal the actual shape of the new stand.
These angled steel structures form the framework that will eventually support the seating rows, terraces and spectator areas, effectively creating the steep profile of the Kop itself.
Up to now, much of the work had centred around foundations, piling, lift shafts and infrastructure hidden below or close to ground level.
The latest progress means supporters can now start to understand the scale of what is being built.
Drone views show the emerging structure towering over the site, while the steel frame is beginning to map out where fans will eventually sit once the redevelopment is completed. With more steel sections expected to arrive, the seating bowl itself should start becoming increasingly visible over the coming months.
FGG says: Kop Stand finally coming to life at the Racecourse
Foundations and concrete work are essential, but from the outside, they can feel repetitive and hard to visualise. This stage is different. For the first time, Wrexham fans can actually see the Kop Stand taking shape.
The installation of the raker steel marks a major milestone, as these angled beams give the first true indication of the stand’s steepness, height and overall profile, effectively mapping out where thousands of supporters will eventually be packed in on matchdays.
After months of groundwork, planning and unseen structural preparation, visible progress above ground is easily the most exciting moment yet. The emerging steel frame finally allows fans to picture the scale of what’s coming, and the Kop’s future outline is now unmistakable.
