Aston Villa's North Stand redevelopment continues to take shape, with the latest aerial footage revealing further progress at Villa Park ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Fenerbahce.

Work is advancing on key structural areas as the club targets a capacity of more than 50,000.

Villa Park expansion continues ahead of big Champions League night

Footage filmed by CC Overview on the morning of the game shows significant progress on the dressing room block, where the floor slab is largely complete and rebar and formwork installation continues towards the front of the structure.

The lift shafts also appear to have reached their full height, with preformed sections used during construction rather than traditional shuttering.

Scaffolding remains prominent across the site as the North Stand begins to take shape.

Elsewhere, additional doors have been installed on the generator and substation building, while work remains to be completed around the disabled seating sections, including provision for carers.

The Holte End remains largely untouched, with construction activity concentrated on the North Stand.

Work on site is also expected to wind down around matchday restrictions as Villa prepare to welcome Fenerbahce.

The latest progress comes as Unai Emery's side look to bounce back from a 2-2 draw with Brentford, having won just four of their previous 12 home league matches.

Villa are still searching for their first home win of the season, although a return to European action offers an opportunity to change that narrative.

With the stadium redevelopment continuing alongside Villa's push for European success, Wednesday provides another major occasion at a ground undergoing significant change.

FGG says: Villa Park's North Stand looks different with every visit

The latest footage shows encouraging progress on the infrastructure behind the new stand, particularly the dressing room block and lift shafts.

These areas are essential to the finished stadium, even if they are less immediately striking than the seating structure itself.

Villa's redevelopment is intended to increase capacity beyond 50,000 and improve the facilities available to players and supporters.

Every completed structural element brings that goal closer, although substantial work remains before the stand can welcome fans.
