Leyton Orient have announced Populous as the architects for the club's bold new stadium project ahead of the New Year.
The O's are currently playing at their 9,0000-seater stadium Brisbane Road, the home of the team since the beginning of the 1937-38 campaign.
Orient find themselves in the middle of the League One standings at the moment, in the midst of a three-game unbeaten run in the division.
The capital-based club picked up their joint-biggest triumph of the term on Saturday afternoon, when they smashed Burton Albion 4-0 in the East Midlands.
Richie Wellens's troops are back in action tonight at Brisbane Road, where they will face Plymouth Argyle in the knockout stages of the EFL Trophy.
‘Inspiring for generations to come' – Leyton Orient appoint stadium architects
Following approval from the council to push ahead with plans for a new ground to replace Brisbane Road, Leyton Orient have announced Populous as official architects of the project.
The O's majority shareholder David Gandler said: “Appointing Populous is a major milestone and a clear statement of our ambition.
“We’re building a world-class, multi-sport campus that honours Leyton Orient’s heritage while creating a vibrant, affordable, technology-driven destination for our fans and our community.
“This will be a home that inspires not just for today, but for generations.”
Declan Sharkey, Global Director at Populous, said: “We are honoured to partner with Leyton Orient at such a defining moment in their journey.
“Our vision is to design a unique stadium and mixed-use development that celebrates the club’s heritage while embracing the future, blending world-class sporting architecture and digital innovation with a vibrant, community-driven neighbourhood.
“Together, we will create a new landmark for East London and beyond.”

Populous projects and Orient ambition
World-leading architect firm Populous have their fingerprints over some of the most impressive venues across the globe, including the Las Vegas Sphere.
The group are also no strangers to designing sports venues, helping the creation of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Wembley, home of the England national team.
Recent projects for Populous include the design of a new stand at French club Strasbourg, who are currently managed by Englishman Liam Rosenior.
Leyton Orient hope that a new stadium would help drive the club towards a regular spot in the Championship, a division that they have not competed in since 1982.
FGG says: A new London powerhouse?
With the well-documented issues of Chelsea trying to improve or move away from Stamford Bridge, Leyton Orient have done brilliantly to receive the green light for their new stadium plans in East London.
With the next step for the O's and the council to find a suitable site, supporters will be refreshing their feeds excitedly for updates as the New Year approaches.
