Luton Town's new Power Court stadium continues to take shape, with the latest footage showing work progressing across several areas of the site.

While the pace may appear modest from the outside, key infrastructure work is nearing completion and could allow the main stands to advance more quickly.

Power Court stadium making slow but steady progress

A new piling rig has arrived at the East Stand, marking another step forward as foundations for the structure continue to take shape.

One of the biggest developments is underground, with the extensive sewer and drainage works appearing to be nearing completion.

Most of the concrete manhole covers are now in position, suggesting this major part of the site's infrastructure is close to being finished.

That could prove important for the wider construction programme, with the drainage work having occupied a significant area of the site and potentially restricted progress elsewhere.

The West Stand is also continuing to develop, with its floor plan expanding and new columns appearing alongside areas designated for future lift shafts and stairwells.

However, the footage suggests the overall pace remains relatively steady rather than rapid, with the narrator expressing some concern about how quickly the stadium is taking shape compared with other recent ground developments.

There is still plenty of work to complete across the four stands, but the project remains on course for its planned opening, with the completion of the drainage works potentially allowing construction to accelerate over the coming months.

FGG says: Power Court needs to find another gear

There is no need for alarm just yet, as it is still a few years before the Hatters move from Kenilworth Road, but understandably the pace might concern Luton supporters when the stadium is being compared with other major projects.

The drainage work nearing completion is a positive because it should clear the way for more substantial structural progress.

If that happens, Power Court could start looking very different quite quickly.
