Following your club home and away is one of the great traditions of English football, but it is becoming an increasingly expensive commitment for supporters.
Travel costs can quickly mount up when fans are required to cross the country 19 times during a Premier League campaign, particularly for clubs based at the geographical extremes of England.
FootballGroundGuide takes a look at the most expensive Premier League teams to follow away from home during the 2026/27 season, with Sunderland supporters facing the biggest overall bill at £3,941.61 across 19 away matches.
The figures have been calculated using the top-flight's fixed £30 away ticket price and estimated travel costs, whether that be by car, train or supporters' coach.
Sunderland fans face the biggest away-day bill in the Premier League
Sunderland top the list at £3,941.61, with their geographical position playing a huge role in the final figure. Their estimated travel bill alone comes to £3,371.61 across the campaign, before adding away tickets.
AFC Bournemouth are not far behind, with their fans facing an estimated £3,853.61 to attend all 19 away matches. Their travel costs are also among the highest at £3,283.61, highlighting how expensive it can be for supporters based on the south coast.
Newcastle United complete the top three at £3,606.82, while newcomers Ipswich Town are surprisingly fourth at £3,238.11.
That means four of the five most expensive teams to follow away are located outside the traditional footballing heartlands of the Midlands and North West, with long journeys helping push up transport costs.

Hull City are fifth at £3,066.21, followed by Brighton & Hove Albion (£3,032.11) and Nottingham Forest (£2,757.83).
At the other end of the scale, Crystal Palace are the cheapest Premier League club to follow away at £2,273.66, narrowly beating Brentford (£2,277.26) and Tottenham (£2,293.46).
The London clubs benefit significantly from the capital's extensive rail network and the relatively short distances between many Premier League grounds.
Arsenal are also low down the list in 15th, with their supporters facing an estimated £2,373.56 for the complete away campaign.
Despite having some of the league's most expensive matchday prices, the Gunners' central London location means their fans do not have to spend as heavily on travel.
