Everton’s off-field evolution could soon take another step forward after the club’s new president of business operations outlined how further innovation at the waterfront venue is firmly on the agenda.
Since moving into the Hill Dickinson Stadium, the Toffees have made no secret of their desire to maximise the commercial potential of their new home, and fresh comments suggest at least one eye-catching feature could be utilised in the near future.
What has the new Everton chief said about upgrading Hill Dickinson Stadium?
Andrew Middleton, who joined the club in January, has confirmed Everton are actively exploring ways to use the stadium’s hydraulic tower as part of wider plans to enhance revenue and fan experience at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Writing in the matchday programme ahead of Everton’s fixture against Manchester United, via the Echo, Middleton explained that his role is focused on commercial growth and maximising the “enormous platform” provided by the new stadium. Among several initiatives, he revealed that the club is looking at further stadium utilisation, including potential uses for the hydraulic tower on site.

Middleton also highlighted ongoing work to enhance Budweiser Plaza, evolve premium areas such as Club View, and continue Everton branding throughout the ground. He stressed that the stadium has already been key to attracting high-profile founding partners and helping the club achieve its strongest annual commercial performance to date.
Crucially, he reiterated that commercial income is designed to be reinvested directly into football operations, aligning with financial regulations and long-term sustainability.
FGG says: Improving matchday experience and revenue will only help Everton
Using unique features like the hydraulic tower could continue to help transform Hill Dickinson Stadium into a truly year-long destination, and not just a venue on a football matchday.
Additional events, attractions and premium experiences would boost revenue without placing extra pressure on supporters through ticket prices.
If executed correctly, these upgrades could strengthen Everton’s finances and subsequently support squad investment to help the club compete more consistently at the top level.
