Scotland's opening game of Euro 2024 has gone just about as badly as anyone could have predicted.
By half-time in Munich, Steve Clarke's men found themselves 3-0 down thanks to goals from Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz.
To compound matters, Scotland were reduced to 10 men on the stroke of half-time after a horror tackle from Watford defender, Ryan Porteous.
The centre-back went in two-footed on Ilkay Gundogan in the penalty area and despite initially getting away with it, a swift VAR check was enough to convince the officials to give Porteous his marching orders.
Word travels fast in the modern world and England fans in Dusseldorf were quick to jump on Scotland's misery amid their horror start to the tournament.
In a video shared online, a pub full of England fans were seen singing ‘Scotland get battered everywhere they go' in a not-so-subtle dig at their neighbours.
The ribbing came shortly after Scotland fans were praised for their rendition of Flower of Scotland.

England fans get their own back after earlier Scotland chants
Scotland fans can hardly be too annoyed at the reaction by England fans in Germany given the chants they were singing earlier in the day in Munich.
According to reports from locals and journalists at the tournament, Scotland fans were singing ‘We Hate England more than You' to German fans on their way to the Allianz Arena. The retort from England fans, therefore, could be seen as payback given the events during the first half in Munich.
20.000 Schotten im Stadion, weitere 80.000 in der Stadt. Alle betrunken, keiner aggressiv. Lieblingslied in Richtung der deutschen Fans: “We hate England, we hate England, we hate England more than you.”#euro2024 pic.twitter.com/M2slbuXPav

Scotland fans will hope that this isn't the end of the back-and-forth with England fans at Euro 2024, but they will have to wait until the Three Lions face Serbia on Sunday before potentially getting their own back.
