Celtic have been handed a suspended stadium sanction and a £7,500 fine following the pitch invasion that took place after their Scottish Premiership title-clinching victory over Hearts at Celtic Park.
The punishment comes after an SPFL disciplinary investigation into scenes that saw thousands of supporters enter the playing surface following the final whistle.
Celtic Park faces suspended seat reduction after Hearts pitch invasion
The SPFL has confirmed that Celtic will face a reduction of 1,000 seats for one home league match if another significant pitch incursion takes place at Celtic Park before June 30th, 2028.
Any future sanction would see seats removed from the front rows of home sections within the stadium.
The league has also imposed an immediate £7,500 fine on the club following the events that unfolded after the controversial 3-1 victory over Hearts on May 16th.

The Hearts squad and staff reportedly required escorts from the stadium after supporters entered the pitch in large numbers following the title celebrations.
The Celtic case was one of several disciplinary matters considered by the SPFL, with Motherwell, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Hamilton Academical and Stenhousemuir also receiving sanctions linked to pitch incursions or supporter behaviour.
FGG says: A warning for Celtic rather than a major punishment
The SPFL has clearly opted for a deterrent rather than an immediate heavy sanction.
The suspended seat reduction gives Celtic a strong incentive to avoid a repeat while stopping short of impacting supporters right away.
Ultimately, the message is simple – celebrate success, but do so safely. If similar scenes occur again, the consequences for both the club and its fans are likely to be far more significant.
