We’re firmly into the business end of the football season across Europe, and while the action on the pitch has delivered drama in abundance, the stands across the continent have once again stolen plenty of the spotlight.

From emotional tributes to defiant comebacks and thunderous home support, tifos continue to define the atmosphere on Europe’s biggest nights across the Champions League and Europa League.

Following some standout displays earlier in the week, here are three more of the best tifos from across Europe.

Arsenal – History in our sights

Arsenal fans unveiled a rare tifo at the Emirates Stadium prior to their Champions League quarter-final second leg with Sporting Lisbon.

The tifo depicted members of the current Arsenal squad, with a message underneath reading ‘History in our sights' in a bid to remind the players that they are still on the cusp of a remarkable season despite recent poor results.

It's difficult to say the tifo prompted a response, as Arsenal toiled throughout before scraping through courtesy of a 0-0 draw.

Bayern Munich – It's all in our hands

Bayern Munich produced a brilliant tifo prior to their second-leg clash with Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena.

The display depicted a faceless Bayern Munich player holding the Champions League ball with a message underneath that read ‘Alles in unserer Hand – it’s all in our hands'

The tifo didn't try to do too much, but the fact that it covered the entire stand made it mightily impressive and intimidating.

Aston Villa – Return of the Villa Villain

The Villa Villain has been used by Aston Villa for tifos on a couple of occasions in recent years, and the popular mascot from the 70s featured again on Thursday night ahead of the club's quarter-final second leg with Bologna.

The display depicted an image of the Villa Villain fighting with an Italian warrior in Bologna's colours. The context behind this is that before the first leg, the official Bologna X account posted an image of their mascot fighting a lion, so this was Villa's reply.

Aston Villa went on to produce one of their best displays of the season, so the Villa Villain could return for the semis.
