Two Arsenal supporters reportedly saw their attempt to gain access to the club's title celebrations end in arrests after allegedly posing as stewards outside Selhurst Park.

With demand for tickets high for Arsenal's final game of the season and subsequent Premier League trophy lift, supporters were warned against ticket misuse.

However, two individuals are said to have attempted a different route into the stadium altogether.

Arsenal fans arrested after sneaking into Selhurst Park in steward disguises

The Gunners defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 in their final match of the campaign, with supporters witnessing the Premier League trophy presentation after full-time.

Ahead of the game, the club had issued a warning over ticket sharing and misuse, stating that any supporter found sharing tickets could face sanctions, including losing the ability to purchase memberships or season tickets for the following season.

According to reports, two Arsenal fans instead attempted to gain access by impersonating stadium stewards.

The pair were allegedly wearing high-visibility jackets and were stopped by genuine stewards at Selhurst Park as they attempted to enter the ground.

The Metropolitan Police later confirmed that two men, aged 35 and 37, had been arrested.

In a statement, police said: “Two men, aged 35 and 37, were arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation.

“This is after stewards at Selhurst Park stopped two men attempting to gain entry to the stadium on Sunday, 24 May.

“They were taken into custody by officers and have since been cautioned.”

FGG says: Big occasions can create big demand, but rules still matter

Major football moments naturally create huge demand, particularly when supporters are hoping to witness title celebrations or significant club milestones in person.

But incidents like this also highlight the security challenges surrounding modern matchdays, where clubs and stadium operators are increasingly focused on ticket controls and crowd safety measures.

For supporters, the excitement of being part of a memorable occasion can sometimes lead to poor decisions. In this case, stadium staff appear to have quickly identified the issue before it progressed further.

The focus for Arsenal will remain on the celebrations themselves, rather than events taking place outside the turnstiles.
