The transformation of Villa Park has taken another huge step forward after fresh footage showed the North Stand roof has now been completely removed.

Aston Villa's £100 million redevelopment continues to gather pace ahead of the 2026/27 season, with a huge milestone now emerging.

North Stand roof at Villa Park now completely removed

New footage filmed over the weekend highlights just how dramatically Villa Park's skyline has changed, with the original North Stand roof now fully dismantled for the first time in decades.

The removal marks one of the biggest milestones of Aston Villa's redevelopment so far, signalling the end of the old structure as work accelerates on the club's new-look North Stand.

The giant Gottwald AK 680-3 heavy-lift crane, brought in to remove the enormous steel gantry supporting the roof demolition, has now completed its task and is itself being dismantled after a complex engineering operation.

Elsewhere across the site, construction continues at pace.

Fresh steelwork is rising at both the Trinity Road Stand-Holte End and Doug Ellis Stand-Holte End corners, while teams are also constructing a substantial reinforced concrete foundation at the North Stand-Trinity Road Stand corner in preparation for the next phase of the build.

The latest update follows recent progress on piling works, seating installation and internal reconfiguration as Villa continue pushing towards the next stage of one of the Premier League's most significant stadium projects.

FGG says: Villa Park looks unrecognisable ahead of new season

With the old roof now completely gone, Villa Park is entering its most visually dramatic phase yet.

The stadium looks almost unrecognisable, and supporters should now begin to see the new North Stand steadily take shape over the coming months.
