FGG says: Atletico fans provided a boost with stunning scenes
There are few sights in football quite like a major European night at the Metropolitano, and this was another reminder of why Atletico Madrid supporters are so admired.
The sheer number of fans who turned out, hours before kick-off, created an incredible atmosphere and no doubt gave the players an extra boost before one of the biggest matches of their season.
When you combine a packed stadium with scenes like that outside beforehand, it is easy to see why visiting teams find it so difficult at the Metropolitano.
And it clearly helped with Atletico making it into the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2017.
