Some Chelsea supporters made their feelings very clear to the club's owners, Blueco, during Sunday's Premier League away clash against Manchester City.

The Blues travelled to the Etihad Stadium without a permanent head coach after Enzo Maresca left his role on New Year's Day, following a return of just one win from seven league games.

However, rather than results, Maresca's relationship with the Chelsea hierarchy appeared to play a bigger role in the decision for the two parties to part ways. The 45-year-old, who won the Club World Cup and Conference League with Chelsea last season, admitted before December's win over Everton that he had endured the “worst 48 hours” since joining the club.

The relationship between Maresca and the board ultimately reached an untenable state that led to his departure after 18 months at the helm.

Chelsea fans send message to BlueCo

The recent events at Stamford Bridge have angered a section of Chelsea's support, who made their feelings clear in Sunday's 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium. As per journalist Nizaar Kinsella, chants of “Roman Abramovich” were heard from the away end, indicating that many supporters preferred life under their former owner to the current regime under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

The supporters would at least have been pleased with what they saw on the pitch, with Enzo Fernandez netting a stoppage-time equaliser to cancel out Tijjani Reijnders first-half opener to give caretaker boss Calum McFarlane a hard-earned point in his first game as a senior manager.

McFarlane is set to hand over the reins to Liam Rosenior, who is on the brink of joining the Blues from sister club Strasbourg.

FGG says: BlueCo under pressure for Rosenior to deliver

Abramovich is well-thought of by the Chelsea fanbase as the individual who transformed the club into one of the biggest sporting institutions in the world following his takeover in 2003.

Under Abramovich's reign, Chelsea won five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three EFL Cups, two Champions League trophies and two Europa League titles, before he sold the club in 2022 after being sanctioned by the British government due to his close relationship with Vladimir Putin's regime in Russia.

Some Chelsea supporters are planning to protest against BlueCo due to their dissatisfaction with the current ownership model and sporting structure.

Rosenior's imminent appointment is reflective of that model, considering he has effectively been allowed to hone his craft at sister club Strasbourg before taking the top job at Chelsea.

BlueCo will need Rosenior to hit the ground running because they will face further scrutiny from the fanbase if matters go awry in the second half of the season.
