FC Barcelona are continuing to make significant progress on the redevelopment of the Camp Nou, with another major capacity increase now moving closer.
Work on the third tier has reached an important milestone, and its planned opening could provide the Catalan giants with a substantial annual revenue boost.
Barcelona could net over £20m with new Camp Nou third tier
Barcelona are hopeful of beginning to open the Camp Nou's newly constructed third tier to supporters from autumn 2026, according to reports in Spain.
The main structural work on the tier is said to have been completed, leaving finishing works and the installation of seats among the major tasks still to be carried out before supporters can be admitted.
As has been the case throughout Blaugrana's phased return to the Camp Nou, the third tier is expected to open gradually in individual sectors and only once the necessary approvals and safety permissions have been secured.
The financial benefits could be significant – Barcelona reportedly expect the additional capacity to generate around €27 million (£23 million) in extra revenue each year once the new tier is fully operational.

Attention will then turn to the Tribuna, or main grandstand, section of the stadium. If construction remains on schedule, Barcelona are targeting an opening date of December 2026 or January 2027 for that part of the ground.
Meanwhile, work continues on the compression ring that will eventually support the Camp Nou's new roof.
The roof itself is currently expected to be installed from summer 2027, with Barcelona potentially needing to temporarily return to the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys for around six months while that phase of the project is completed.
FGG says: Camp Nou third tier will hand Barca a major financial boost
The Camp Nou redevelopment still has a long way to go before Barcelona can consider the project complete, particularly with the technically demanding roof installation still ahead.
However, opening the third tier would represent one of the most important milestones yet.
Adding more supporters to the stadium while generating an estimated £23 million in extra annual revenue shows exactly why the redevelopment is so important to Barcelona's long-term plans, both as a football club and a business.
