As plans progress for a major redevelopment of the iconic San Siro, AC Milan have sent members of staff to England to study some of Europe's most modern football stadiums.
These visits come as part of growing clarity over what the new venue in Milan could look like, and how it should function on matchdays and beyond.
Why are AC Milan visiting English grounds before rebuilding the San Siro?
According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, a five-person delegation has travelled to Liverpool to take a look at Everton's new home, Hill Dickinson Stadium, to study its design and operations.
The fact-finding trip is thought to be part of preparations ahead of developing a new stadium on its current San Siro site, which both AC and Inter Milan acquired last year.
Their research is expected to extend to other sites across the country, such as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, widely regarded as one of the most advanced multi-purpose venues in the world.

FGG says: The clearest sign that the new San Siro will be modernised
This is a proactive approach for the Milan giants, and it is perhaps the strongest sign yet that the new San Siro stadium won't just be a rebuild, but a complete transformation to bring one of the most historic venues into the modern day.
By visiting both Hill Dickinson and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, among others, the clubs are signalling that their ambition goes way beyond increasing capacity, as they clearly want to take inspiration from design, diversified revenue streams and wider appeal.
For fans longing to see Milan's next chapter, it appears the process is moving on positively, with the new San Siro being planned as a venue set to move both clubs into the modern era, which is a rare sight across Italy.
